Sports have always been an important part of Stockton鈥檚 culture. Students participate in Division III track and field, baseball, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, golf, rowing, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Students, staff, faculty, and community members cheer for the Ospreys from the stands. Additionally, the University offers club sports and intramural teams, allowing students to partake in physical activities for fun and recreation. Stockton values physical well-being and promotes sportsmanship, while focusing on the academic mission of the University.

In the institution鈥檚 early years, students, faculty, and staff alike swam in the picturesque setting of the pool in L Wing, shot hoops in the I Wing gymnasium, or went to bat at the baseball and softball fields. Since 2000, they have also been able to enjoy the Sports Center, known colloquially as 鈥淏ig Blue鈥 because of the color of the building, or take a jog around Stadium. Various fields and even the nearby bays and ocean are available venues for Stockton鈥檚 .
